Michael Jary has a portfolio of roles across commercial, charity, social enterprise and government.

He is senior adviser with OC&C Strategy Consultants.  He was one of the founding team of OC&C Strategy Consultants in 1987 and previously served as the firm’s Worldwide Managing Partner.

He is a non-executive director of Barclays Bank UK plc.

He is chair of Itad.  Itad works with the world’s leading international development agencies to make development smarter and to have the greatest possible impact on people’s lives.

He is the chair of Duchy Originals, the food brand established by HRH The Prince of Wales to promote organic farming and to help protect and sustain the countryside and wildlife.  He is also chair of the commercial committee of The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund, and chair of Highgrove Enterprises.

He is the lead non-executive director of HM Government’s Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

He is a trustee of Opera Holland Park, an advisory board member of The Fashion Retail Academy, an ambassador for The Retail Trust and an advisory council member of These Islands.

Michael is the co-author of Retail Power Plays (a top-ten business bestseller published by Macmillan in the UK, and in the US by New York University Press), a co-author of Markenpower (published in Germany by Gabler) and a contributor to “Brands the New Wealth Creators” (published by Macmillan).

He is the author of “In the Footsteps of a Himalayan Pilgrimage”.

He is a private investor in retail and e-commerce businesses.

He has an MA in Physics from the University of Oxford, an MBA with distinction from Insead, and a post-graduate diploma in History of Asian Art from SOAS, University of London.
